The integration of sustainability in laboratories is becoming increasingly important, as laboratory work consumes large amounts of energy, water and chemicals, and at the same time generates large amounts of waste. Therefore, implementing sustainable practices in laboratories makes sense from both an environmental and economic perspective. It helps to conserve resources, minimise waste and reduce operating costs. In doing so, continuous improvement and awareness of sustainable practices are crucial to create a greener and more efficient laboratory environment in the long run. This presentation will highlight many simple and efficient ways to reduce the environmental footprint, promote the safety and health of employees and thus make an important contribution to achieving global environmental goals.
