The pharmaceutical industry faces the urgent task of combining innovation and sustainability to meet growing environmental and social challenges. This presentation examines key approaches to promoting sustainability in the industry. The focus is on environmentally friendly production processes that leave a smaller ecological footprint by reducing CO₂ emissions, chemical waste and the use of renewable energies. Sustainable supply chains are also considered, including the use of recyclable packaging materials and the promotion of local procurement in order to conserve resources. Another focus is on social responsibility, such as the development of environmentally friendly medicines and improving access to medicines in disadvantaged regions. By combining innovative technologies and responsible strategies, the presentation will show how the industry can make a sustainable contribution to global health.
