The lecture will be focussing on sustainability within clean utilities environment respectively a deep dive into the benefits and challenges of electric heating of historically black steam heated WFI and clean steam generators. The introduction shall provide the audience an overview of what is commonly used and briefly explain pro and cons for each technology.
The second part will briefly describe which actions in general can be undertaken to reduce energy consumption respectively what energy re use options are available and performed. A Number of different aspects will be covered without going into details.
The third part will be a look into the technical details of a bespoke generator (clean steam or vapour compression). It should give the audience a feeling what constructional changes will be applied to such equipment.
The participant should understand what advantages and benefits go along with the change to electrified systems. Also, it should explain the requirements which are related to such an electrified system. At the same time the limitations of electrifications must be understood.
The final part will look into a bespoke case study comparing energy consumption for different options. A proper evaluation and conclusion will finalize the lecture then which should lead into discussion about participants.
