Monitoring the bacterial count of pure water in real time
Mettler-Toledo GmbH

The 7000RMS (Real-time Microbial System) enables the continuous determination of microorganisms online and in real time. By displaying microbiological changes in the water system, deviations can be directly detected and reacted to.

The laser technology used, a combination of the established methods of measuring fluorescent light and Mie scattering, quantifies microorganisms immediately. It is superior to conventional determination methods, which are dependent on incubation conditions, growth media, reagents and time.

Microorganisms are detected from a size of 0.3 µm up to a temperature of 90 °C at the inlet of the sample stream. The 7000RMS provides round-the-clock monitoring of water treatment, storage tanks, distribution systems, tapping points and cleaning-in-place processes. This minimizes the risk of producing and subsequently destroying batches of contaminated water.
