Top hygienic design plus safe EMC technology combined in a cable gland

HÜCKESWAGEN - In demanding applications where design and safety play a major role, the PFLITSCH blueglobe TRI CLEAN Plus cable gland is a winner in the modern technology environment. This high-quality stainless steel cable gland has been developed under current hygienic design and EMC regulations, achieves the highest attenuation values up to Cat. 7A and has been awarded the iF product design award. PFLITSCH thus offers a solution that meets tomorrow's requirements today.

Thanks to its patented TRI spring, the blueglobe TRI CLEAN Plus can be installed reliably yet easily. This is because the cable sheath only needs to be removed at the contact point. Once the cable has been pushed through the TRI gland, the triangle spring wraps itself securely around the braided shield. This ensures greater contact reliability because PFLITSCH mechanically separates the shielding from the seal.

The design of the TRI spring prevents snagging in the shielding braid both during assembly and disassembly. Its geometry also ensures a large-area, low-resistance and durable 360° contact to the cable shield. This even applies to out-of-round and off-center cables.

Highest HF attenuation values

As the cable shield does not expand and is only applied at the contact point in the enclosure housing, these EMC cable glands achieve above-average attenuation values of over 80 dB at 100 MHz and 65 dB at 1,000 MHz. The TRI cable gland is therefore approved for applications up to Cat. 7A.

In addition to RF attenuation, current-carrying capacity is an important criterion for an EMC cable gland - i.e. the ability of a component to carry a certain continuous current. The blueglobe TRI also impresses here, achieving a higher current-carrying capacity than the shielded cable in tests.

The blueglobe TRI CLEAN Plus is available in sizes M12 to M40 for cables with diameters from 5.0 mm to 29.0 mm. The cable glands achieve the high protection classes IP 68 (up to 15 bar) and IP 69, type 4X. They are approved as standard for the temperature range -40°C to +85°C, but are also available as an HT version with -55°C to +180°C.
