Ozone is a natural gaseous molecule that consists of three oxygen atoms and decomposes into dimeric
oxygen within a very short time. At normal air pressure and room temperature, ozone is gaseous and transparent to slightly bluish in color.
Due to its high oxidation potential, it is an ideal disinfectant, as even shorter contact times and
lower concentrations are sufficient than with other decontamination methods.
Ozone decontamination is used in water purification and wastewater disposal, as well as in medicine, such as
in dentistry, for wound healing or for ozone therapies.
