Load pins, for example, are suitable for overload protection. A good example of such an application is force monitoring in linear chromatography columns. In the chromatography process it is important to control the columns with the electric cylinder very evenly and continuously in order to achieve the best results. A load pin can be integrated into the column without affecting the movements of the system. Efficiency is improved while safety regulations are complied with.

Bending and shear beams, on the other hand, are excellently suited for gravimetric level measurement. These are force transducers that are affordable in price and yet very precise. This allows determining the level of tanks or silos by their weight. The sensors do not come into contact with the product and no further installations are necessary in the sterile container to monitor the level. Accordingly, the measurement does not depend on the viscosity or aggressiveness of the medium, and consequently fewer seals are needed and the risk of leakage is minimised. For this purpose, a bending or shear beam is mounted on each foot to check the weight of the entire system, including its contents.
