The testo 420 volumetric flow hood enables fast and precise compliance with hygiene guidelines and indoor air quality specifications for larger air inlets and outlets. It provides reliable support in calculating the total volume flow of air handling systems, especially in environments such as hospitals, office buildings and commercial buildings.
High measuring accuracy at swirl diffusers thanks to volume flow rectifier
Measuring the volume flow at swirl diffusers is often prone to errors due to the turbulent air. The testo 420 volume flow measuring hood significantly reduces these errors by using an integrated volume flow rectifier to calm the turbulence. This creates an almost uniform air flow, which enables precise calculation of the volume flow in the range from 40 to 4,000 m3/h.
Uniquely lightweight volumetric flow measuring hood with quick assembly
The volume flow measuring hood is equipped with ergonomic handles and a tiltable display, and weighs less than 2.9 kg. This enables convenient and safe volume flow calculations, even in large rooms and above head height. A large measuring button makes it easy to record the measured values. The hood has dimensions of 610 x 610 mm and offers accessories for additional ceiling outlets. For higher air inlets and outlets, there is an optional tripod that can be extended up to 3.3 meters.

Volume flow measuring hood with detachable measuring device - performance overview
The volume flow measuring hood for HVAC systems is equipped with an indicating measuring instrument that can be tilted and removed for convenient reading of the measured values. The testo 420 measuring instrument measures flow velocity, volume flow, absolute pressure, temperature and relative humidity. The automatic zero adjustment ensures greater accuracy at low pressures. Measurement data can be saved and reports can be created directly on site using the app connection. The measurement data is managed on the PC using the plug & play function without additional software.
The testo 420 volumetric flow measuring hood makes it possible to remove the integrated measuring instrument for pressure, flow and volumetric flow measurements in the duct, eliminating the need to purchase an additional measuring instrument. Only a pitot tube and connection hoses (both optional) are required for duct measurement. Temporal and punctual averaging as well as the input of the duct geometry support precise measurement in the duct.
