
Initiated by the request of a customer who wanted to avoid damaging to his new cleanroom walls, Friedrich Sailer GmbH developed the Hygienic Design magnet as a solution for the surface-protecting attachment of a variety of furnishings. The innovative company makes use of the fact that the clean room walls and panels that are used in food processing plants are usually magnetizable.
Previous attachment approaches such as gluing or drilling were either not permanent or resulted in damage to the wall and its coating, which negatively affects pressure conditions and particle emissions and, in the worst case, can lead to traces of corrosion on walls in connection with disinfectants.
The hygienic design magnet now ensures the integrity of the clean room and panel walls, protects the surfaces and accelerates the assembly process enormously. The assembly can be dismantled at any time with the Hygienic Design Magnet without leaving any traces, so that changed assembly positions can be implemented quickly and easily. It is also easy to dismantle for complete wall cleaning and disinfection. Thanks to the elimination of drill holes, repair work and covers are also superfluous.
On commercially available clean room walls and panels, a single magnet has a load capacity of approx. 10 kg due to its powerful internal magnet system. By combining several magnets, correspondingly higher load values can be achieved. The central assembly internal thread takes the place of the wall mounting otherwise set by drilling.
The magnets can be used with almost any type of wall-mounted device, regardless of manufacturer.
In accordance with the hygienic design guidelines, the housing of the hygienic design magnet is made of stainless steel 1.4305 and has a particularly low surface roughness of Ra <0.8 to ensure easy cleanability. The wall-side sealing cap is made of FDA-compliant silicone and ensures that the mounting surface is sealed due to the attraction forces between the magnet and the wall. The beveled edge of the silicone cap with a large open angle ensures that the outer contour of the magnet is easy to clean. In addition, the silicone surface reliably protects the surface coating of the wall from damage and scratches during assembly and disassembly. All of this makes the hygienic design magnet an optimal and efficient assembly solution for all clean rooms, GMP areas and food companies.
