Particle measurement on cleanroom garments and consumables
The Helmke-Drum manufactured by CCI for measuring particulate residual contamination on cleanroom garments and consumables is produced in accordance with the recommendations of Recommended Practice (RP)-CC003.5 of the IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology).
The Helmke-Drum is based on the principle of particle release from garments and textiles, which are emitted through movement in the rotating Helmke-Drum. The drum is driven at a constant speed of 10 revolutions per minute.
A laser particle counter with a sampling volume of 28.3 l (1 cft/min) is used for particle measurement. Depending on the specific design, this can be connected to the Helmke-Drum for control purposes. CCI recommends a Kanomax Model 3905 particle counter as an optional
accessory.
We also offer measurements as a CCI service.
