BIOFLEX ULTRA – welche Ausführungen gibt es?

The BIOFLEX ULTRA replaces the BIOFLEX as a universal product.

It is available in the following versions:
• Liner in GP (virginal) or AS (antistatic)
• With polypropylene mesh
• With stainless steel mesh
• With stainless steel mesh and blue EPDM rubber cover
• With stainless steel mesh and black dissipative EPDM rubber cover (TRbF-compliant)
• With stainless steel mesh and translucent silicone cover

Which fitting versions are possible?
For the BIOFLEX ULTRA, both a lined (PTFE lining) and, in principle, a non-lined design is possible across the entire range of fittings.

What are the improvements?
An additional stainless steel spiral made of AISI 316 (1.4401) was integrated into the outer profile of the hose liner in the ribbed valleys. In addition, the AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel braiding has been replaced by AISI 316 (1.4401) in the pressure carrier.

What do we achieve by doing this?
• Greater flexibility and pressure resistance of the hose
• Optimisation of the slight ripple formation in the inner layer of the PTFE liner (you can find a detailed study on this on our homepage under ‘The Inside Story’)
• Improved chemical resistance of the braiding
• Higher number of cycles when autoclaving the product

Temperature/pressure
Thanks to its extremely solid construction, BIOFLEX ULTRA is much more resistant to extreme temperatures and pressure than conventionally corrugated PTFE hoses.

Change in the maximum operating pressure under the influence of temperature. For BIOFLEX ULTRA with RC or SI cover, the change in operating pressure can be seen in the diagram.

Minimum/maximum operating temperature

BIOFLEX ULTRA GP or AS SS -73 °C to +260 °C

BIOFLEX ULTRA GP or AS SS, RC -40 °C to +150 °C

BIOFLEX ULTRA GP or AS SS, SI -73 °C to +204 °C

BIOFLEX ULTRA GP or AS PB -30 °C to +100 °C

From +80 °C to +100 °C, the operating pressure is reduced by 50 %.

Temperatur/vacuum
Depending on the version, BIOFLEX ULTRA is suitable for a vacuum of -0.9 bar up to +200 °C (+100 °C for TO hoses). At temperatures above +200 °C (+100 °C for TO hoses), the vacuum resistance must be reduced by 2 % for each degree.
