ZETA, engineering specialist for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, is active worldwide with twelve branches in seven countries. These include a new branch in Visp, an important location for the pharmaceutical industry in Switzerland. The aim is to work even more closely with global players and medium-sized companies in the pharmaceutical industry in western Switzerland in future.
Although Switzerland accounts for just one per thousand of the world's population, two of the six largest global pharmaceutical companies have their headquarters in the Alpine republic. Switzerland is the Mecca of the pharmaceutical industry and is regarded as a driver of innovation for the international market. This is precisely why the engineering specialist ZETA works closely with Swiss pharmaceutical companies, as Andreas Marchler, Managing Director of ZETA, emphasizes: "We at ZETA drive innovation, which is why cooperation with our Swiss customers is particularly flourishing."
Customer requirements implemented quickly and competently
ZETA has now set up a new branch in Visp to further expand its successful cooperation. "We are a competent local partner and can therefore implement Swiss customer requirements in the shortest possible time," emphasizes Hans Ulrich Gehrig, Managing Director of ZETA Switzerland. From project management and planning to engineering, digitalization, automation and maintenance of pharmaceutical and biotechnological process plants and the associated HVAC and cleanroom planning - ZETA has established itself internationally as a one-stop store with its services. This is appreciated by the big players in the industry as well as start-ups and medium-sized pharmaceutical companies.
While large orders are processed at the ZETA headquarters in Lieboch/Graz (AT) and at the locations in Vienna (AT), Freising/Munich (DE) and Brno (CZ), the main focus at the branch in Visp is on customer proximity and personal support, as Hans Ulrich Gehrig emphasizes: "ZETA is a reliable partner throughout the entire life cycle of a process system; our services do not end with the acceptance of the system by the customer. That is why it is important to us to be able to offer our consulting services directly on site."
ZETA and Lonza: a joint success story
With the new branch, ZETA can also provide even more targeted support to its long-standing customer Lonza at the world's largest production site in Visp in the canton of Valais. "Lonza has relied on the expertise of ZETA process engineers for over 15 years. With the site in Visp, we want to use our proximity to Lonza and our other customers in Switzerland to work together in the early planning project phases and thus jointly drive innovation in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry," explains Manfred Seifert, Head of Sales for Switzerland.
The collaboration between ZETA and Lonza is characterized by particularly innovative projects. For example, as part of the implementation of the IBEX Solutions flagship project, ZETA carried out the detail engineering, construction and installation of a single-use USP and DSP for a Mammalian Cell Line plant with over 29 utility stations and supply lines with a total length of over 6.2 kilometers as an ultra-fast-track project at the Visp site. "It was only possible to implement the project so quickly thanks to the long-standing partnership and the project team's high level of technical expertise," recalls Andreas Marchler. "With the new location in Visp, we have now created the ideal conditions for this joint success story to be followed by many more."
