Prof. Dr. Christoph Kaup, Chairman of the Board of the Fachverband Gebäude-Klima e. V. (FGK), opened both events and welcomed participants to the Marburg Congress Center on September 17 and 18.

The theme of the 16th KLIMA Day was “Health through TGA.” The event focused on the effects of climate change on human health and the role of technical building equipment (TGA) in identifying ways in which technical innovations, structural adjustments, and legal requirements can work together to make buildings healthier and better adapted to climate change.

Medical professionals and TGA experts discussed specific measures for reducing heat stress and sustainably improving air quality in buildings. Two panel discussions, in which Prof. Dr. Kaup actively participated, provided valuable insights from science and practice.

The day before, on September 17, regular board elections were held during the FGK general meeting. Dror Peled (Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V.) and Simon Nehls (Wolf GmbH) were newly elected to the board as successors to Rainer Feichtmeier (DAIKIN) and Bernhard Steppe (Wolf GmbH), who had retired. Prof. Dr. Christoph Kaup was confirmed as Chairman of the Board. In addition to the board elections, a forward-looking decision was made to relocate the FGK office from Ludwigsburg to Berlin in order to create a joint office with the BTGA and the Manufacturers' Association for Ventilation and Air Conditioning Equipment. “This step is a clear commitment to politics,” explained FGK Managing Director Frank Ernst with delight.
