We present proven digitisation components for laboratory buildings based on practical examples. We show which solutions have proven themselves in the laboratory environment and which challenges arise during implementation in new buildings and existing structures. We also explain how the management of smart labs differs from that of traditional laboratories, particularly with regard to the organisation and use of the operating data obtained. Finally, we provide an outlook on how use cases are already being holistically integrated into plant structures today.
