Pharmaceutical production demands the highest standards in process safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. A central element of GMP Annex 1 is the qualification of cleanroom personnel based on clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). VR training is particularly effective when the underlying SOPs realistically reflect the specific customer equipment. At the same time, VR offers the advantage of realistic training without the need for real equipment or interrupting production operations. Traditional training methods quickly reach their limits here, as they lack practical relevance and direct transferability to everyday production.
Virtual reality (VR) opens up new possibilities: complex processes can be trained immersively, interactively, and as often as desired, safely, scalably, and independently of machine availability. However, efficient and meaningful implementation is crucial. VR training only reaches its full potential when it is not isolated but embedded in a digital ecosystem. This allows training concepts, interactions, and evaluations to be designed in a practical manner and linked to digital process planners, operator support tools, and augmented reality solutions.
