The development of filters in cleanroom technology is increasingly influenced by sustainability requirements and regulatory specifications. The presentation shows how current regulations influence material selection, production processes, and product labeling. The focus is on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) as a tool for transparent environmental assessment, the switch to PFAS-free materials to avoid persistent pollutants, and the implementation of the REACH regulation for the safe handling of chemical substances. Practical examples are used to explain how these requirements promote innovation, but also pose technical and economic challenges for manufacturers and users.
