H.U.G.S. Mobile Cleanroom Robotics – Usecases and Benefits

The presentation contains a mobile robotics solution designed for use in cleanrooms of classes C and D. The system automates manual, contamination-critical tasks involved in microbiological sampling.
At its core is the mobile base platform Stäubli Sterimove, which carries the HEITEC top module – equipped with a collaborative robot arm, a gripper, and a particle counter from Particle Measuring Systems (PMS).
In accordance with GMP/Annex 1 guidelines, the mobile robot significantly reduces human intervention in the cleanroom environment by reliably performing contact plate handling, a task highly sensitive to contamination. This not only lowers personnel costs but also enhances the overall quality and consistency of the sampling process.
In addition to microbiological sampling, the system can be adapted for other use cases such as tub handling, material transport, and disinfection tasks.
