GMP maintenance is undergoing a transformation: away from reactive measures and towards a data-driven, predictive strategy. The aim is to detect plant malfunctions at an early stage, reduce unplanned downtime and increase availability – without neglecting the strict requirements of GMP. This requires a clear maintenance strategy and organisation. Modern sensor technology, digital trend analyses and smart evaluations make it possible to carry out maintenance when it is actually necessary. This enables companies to reduce costs, stabilise processes and strengthen compliance at the same time. Predictive maintenance is therefore not a replacement for existing methods, but a logical further development that makes GMP maintenance more efficient, safer and more future-proof.
