CO₂ neutrality is becoming a strategic objective for an increasing number of companies, but what does this mean in practical terms, and how can it be achieved reliably? This presentation explains which guidelines provide orientation, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol with its Scopes 1–3, which form the basis for establishing a robust and verifiable CO₂ footprint. It outlines how emissions can be systematically recorded, evaluated, and transparently documented. A practical case study on WFI generation then illustrates how energy‑efficient technologies and the use of renewable energy sources interact to progressively move WFI production toward genuine climate neutrality.
