Human intervention remains one of the greatest risks in sterile manufacturing, and Annex 1 has heightened the industry’s focus on controlling this risk. This session explores the shift from internally to externally operated Rapid Transfer Ports, a key evolution that reduces operator intervention and simplifies aseptic transfer workflows. We will discuss the benefits of gloveless transfer systems and the impact on single-use bag design. The presentation will also address technologies supporting First Air requirements, including the sterilization, transfer, and installation of machine parts such as RTP funnels and bowls. Finally, we will look at sterile glove-on-demand systems as a flexible, ready-to-use intervention method that maintains sterility while supporting operational agility.
