Project engineer process technology for pharmaceutical plants

As a project engineer Process Technology, you will be responsible for planning and implementing exciting projects in the pharmaceutical industry. Your tasks will include planning a defined project scope, for example for a specific area or a range of equipment and systems. Through regular communication with our customers, you will ensure that all requirements are implemented and that the budget and schedule are adhered to. The process units, areas and systems to be supported range from small to medium-sized projects with a corresponding level of complexity.

What you can expect:

  • You coordinate cooperation with internal and external engineers, customers, site managers, partners and suppliers
  • You structure, prioritize and delegate complex tasks independently as part of a team
  • You communicate effectively and regularly with customers or suppliers
  • You are responsible for the creation, documentation and evaluation of mass and energy balances
  • They recognize deviations from the agreed project scope and changes to the design direction and forward these to the discipline or project manager if necessary.
  • You have sound experience in the creation of common project documentation and can support other colleagues in this process
  • You create block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • You create the technical documentation and functional specifications for the process equipment and the qualification requirements
  • You carry out technical offer evaluations
  • Based on your experience and technical skills, you will also take on other tasks such as
    • FAT (factory acceptance tests)
    • Risk analyses
    • HAZOP/HCCP or similar safety analyses
    • Management of supplier packages
    • Review of 3D models and coordination
    • Solutions for 3D model collisions
    • You act as a mentor for younger team members

Qualifications

  • University degree in chemical or biotechnology, process engineering or equivalent degree 
  • Project experience (at least 5 years) within the pharmaceutical industry as a process engineer and/or project manager and an excellent technical understanding
  • Social skills, leadership talent and ability to work in a team
  • Sound knowledge of FDA / EMA and cGMP standards and their interpretation in projects  
  • Willingness to travel to project locations in the DACH region 
  • Very good language skills in German (B2, including technical and industry-specific vocabulary) and English (C1)
