Stainless Steel Cleanroom Weighing Table

Highly precise weighing without a granite slab: Friedrich Sailer GmbH offers pharmaceutical manufacturers and cleanroom operators a weighing table made entirely of stainless steel, an FDA-compliant alternative to conventional anti-vibration tables with natural stone tops.
Weighing tables are designed to stabilise analytical and micro balances and to isolate measurements from ambient vibrations, for example caused by people moving or nearby equipment. Typically, this is achieved with a granite slab mounted on rubber blocks. However, FDA compliance cannot be demonstrated for a natural material such as granite, which increasingly poses a challenge in regulated pharmaceutical environments.
The Sailer weighing table takes a different approach: its tabletop is a hermetically laser-welded construction made of stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304), filled with high-strength concrete. Its high dead weight of 125 to 170 kg, depending on the version, makes the table extremely low-vibration. In addition, the top plate is decoupled from the base frame by four dampers made of FDA-compliant plastic.
The brushed surface typical of Sailer, with a surface roughness of Ra < 0.8 µm, is cleanroom-suitable and easy to clean. All surfaces are FDA-compliant.
Its performance was tested with a high-performance analytical balance from Mettler Toledo (model XPR225DR): stable weighing results with an accuracy of 0.1 mg were achieved both under cleanroom and uncontrolled conditions.
The weighing table is available in the standard sizes 800 × 600 mm and 1,000 × 600 mm, each with a working height of 700 or 900 mm. Custom sizes are manufactured by Friedrich Sailer GmbH to customer specifications.
