Bacterial count in pharmaceutical water in real time

The determination of bioburden in purified water and water for injection has until now relied almost exclusively on time-consuming laboratory culture tests. With the monograph 0169 of the European Pharmacopoeia (04/2017), WFI no longer has to be produced exclusively by distillation (as has always been the case according to the USP). This has raised the requirements for monitoring water quality. The latest technological developments enable precise measurements of contamination by microorganisms in pharmaceutical water systems. The METTLER TOLEDO THORNTON Bioburden Analyzer 8120i with BioSureTM sets new standards for seamless and fully automated monitoring of bioburden.
