Traceable pharma calibration in example of air-humidityIn modern manufacturing processes, there is a requirement to precisely monitor the ambient conditions during the manufacturing process and, if necessary, to control them within a bandwidth. Typical examples of such requirements are semiconductor production or medical technology manufacturing. In addition to the ambient temperature, the relative humidity is particularly important as "ambient conditions". In the manufacturing process itself, there is often a need to precisely monitor the humidity of process gases (e.g. drying processes). Monitoring measuring equipment, calibration and traceability is a central issue in most quality assurance systems. The hierarchy of the national and international metrological traceability chain and the possibilities of internal and external metrological traceability (calibration) are presented on the basis of basic humidity calibration procedures. The fundamental contributions to measurement uncertainty in calibrations are discussed and calibration intervals and calibration scope are addressed.
