Automated cleanroom bio-decontamination can be beneficial to pharmaceutical manufacturers, as it reduces risk of an unexpected contamination event which can result in timely investigations, production downtime and sometimes batch loss. One of the reasons for updating Annex 1 was to encourage advances in technology. Section 4.36 refers to the use of fumigation or vapor disinfection with automated equipment. We will explore the different options to perform automated bio-decontamination using H₂O₂ vapor.
