In addition to purity, safety and hygiene, legal requirements from the EU, the issue of climate change, availability and, last but not least, economic efficiency are essential factors in the pharmaceutical industry. Some solutions such as heat recovery in ventilation systems or the use of waste heat have long been state of the art. Others, such as generating steam using a heat pump or using hydrogen instead of electricity, are still in their infancy. The presentation will approach this topic and the solutions available on the market from the perspective of a planner.
