The use of waste heat has great potential for saving energy and CO2 and is mandatory, especially in view of the new Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG). The lecture will show how the potential can be systematically determined using a PINCH analysis and how measures such as energy networks with heat pumps to reduce primary energy requirements can then be derived. For example, waste heat from refrigeration machines can be made available in processes without restricting their control quality and availability.
